Home Depot warned of softer demand as a frozen housing market and jittery consumers choke off remodeling and big home upgrades. The retailer said US same-store sales inched up just 0.2% last quarter and cut its profit outlook, citing mortgage rates stuck between 6% and 7%. CEO Ted Decker said uncertainty and housing pressures are weighing on home improvement. Fewer major storms also cooled demand for roofing supplies, backup generators and plywood. Shares fell 3% premarket Tuesday and are down about 8% this year. Tariffs are prompting selective price increases.
