Morris defends Penix amid reaction to comments | JQJO

Falcons coach Raheem Morris pushed back after Michael Penix Jr.'s midweek remark about consulting his fiancee and "quarterback coaches back at home" drew scrutiny. Calling the reaction "a joke," Morris urged critics to stop stretching snippets and said the noise will not affect the building. Penix declined to clarify, saying the organization knows the truth. Morris noted Penix relies on the staff, including himself, Zac Robinson, D.J. Williams, T.J. Yates, Ken Zampese, and Kirk Cousins. Williams said he talks to the quarterbacks more than to his own children. The Falcons remain wildly inconsistent, with big wins and blowout losses.
