At Trump's urging, Bondi says U.S. will investigate Epstein's ties to foes : NPR

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, heeding President Donald Trump, assigned Manhattan U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to Trump’s political adversaries, including Bill Clinton, after Republicans released nearly 23,000 pages from Epstein’s estate and Democrats highlighted emails referencing Trump. Trump labeled the matter an “Epstein Hoax,” urged scrutiny of Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman and JPMorgan, and asserted he can order probes. A July FBI memo reported no predicate to investigate uncharged third parties. None of Trump’s named targets have been accused by Epstein’s victims. The House plans a vote to compel release of Epstein files.
