The proclamation, posted on X by justice department attorney Ed Martin, framed the clemency as ending a grave national injustice and advancing reconciliation. Many recipients were so-called false electors. The move is largely symbolic: pardons cover only federal crimes, while the charges are state cases. It does not apply to Trump, and includes ex-Trump lawyers Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, John Eastman and Kenneth Chesebro.
