Dodgers' Alex Vesia says baby daughter Sterling died Oct. 26

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia said Friday that his daughter, Sterling, has died, explaining in an Instagram post that she "went to heaven Sunday October 26th." The message, alongside a photo of an infant’s hand held by adults, thanked Cedars Sinai Medical Center, both clubs, and fans for support. Teammates and Blue Jays relievers honored Vesia by wearing his No. 51 during the World Series, which the Dodgers won in seven games. Vesia, absent after an Oct. 23 team announcement, also received condolences from the MLBPA.
