White House says Washington Commanders naming new stadium after Trump would be "beautiful"

The White House called it 'beautiful' to name Washington’s planned NFL stadium after President Trump, following an ESPN report that an intermediary told the Commanders he wants his name on it. Trump is expected at Sunday’s game and could deliver the message. The team and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office declined comment. The $4 billion project, approved by the D.C. Council, will replace RFK Stadium, with demolition underway. Congress granted the city 99-year control after a land transfer bill signed by President Biden. In July, Trump threatened the deal while urging a return to the Redskins name.
