NFL mourns Marshawn Kneeland amid mental health reckoning | JQJO

The NFL is mourning Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, 24, found dead of an apparent suicide after he fled a crash; acquaintances had received a group text saying goodbye, according to recordings archived by Broadcastify. His death has pushed mental health back to the forefront, as the league and players union tout expanded resources, including mandated team clinicians and the Colts’ Kicking The Stigma campaign. Players voiced grief and urged check-ins, while past stories from Dak Prescott, Solomon Thomas and advocate Brian Dawkins echoed. On Monday night, Kneeland had scored after recovering a blocked punt vs. Arizona.
