Jayden Daniels avoids surgery after elbow dislocation

Read, Watch or Listen

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels sustained a dislocated left elbow but tests showed no ligament damage; he won’t need surgery and won’t go on injured reserve, sources told ESPN. He’ll be reevaluated during the bye week after Week 11’s game against Miami in Madrid. Daniels was hurt in Sunday’s 38-14 loss to Seattle when his left arm bent backward on a sack; X-rays showed no fracture. With Washington 3-6 after four straight losses, Marcus Mariota will start against Detroit. Three of the Commanders' top five receivers are sidelined. Daniels has missed three games and thrown for 1,184 yards.
