President Donald Trump granted a full pardon to Darryl Strawberry, the three-time World Series champion and eight-time All-Star who pleaded guilty in 1995 to one count of tax evasion, a White House official said. Strawberry, sober for over a decade and now running a recovery center with his wife in Florida, thanked Trump on Instagram. He described being half asleep at home, caring for his wife after surgery, when a Washington call came through and the president told him the news. Strawberry called the gesture nonpolitical and rooted in friendship.
