Google Disney dispute pulls channels and recordings

Google and Disney’s contract standoff has yanked 21 Disney-owned channels — including ABC and ESPN — from YouTube TV and stripped subscribers of cloud DVR recordings tied to those networks. Google’s support page warns Disney recordings will vanish until a deal returns them, underscoring how cloud storage can disappear overnight. The rift also spilled into Movies Anywhere, where Google pulled purchased titles, and Disney halted rentals and purchases on Google platforms. With no agreement yet, Google is offering limited credits as frustrated customers absorb the fine print of streaming’s fragile ownership.
