Yamamoto seals Dodgers repeat with extra innings heroics | JQJO

Yoshinobu Yamamoto finished a grueling masterpiece, throwing 2 2/3 scoreless innings in extra frames to clinch the Dodgers’ 5-4 Game 7 win over the Blue Jays and a second straight title, one day after a 96-pitch Game 6. The World Series MVP escaped a bases-loaded ninth, breezed through the 10th, and stranded Vladimir Guerrero Jr. after Will Smith’s go-ahead 11th-inning homer. The 27-year-old went 3-0 with a 1.09 ERA in the Series, becoming the fourth pitcher to win Games 6 and 7, with his Game 7 cap bound for Cooperstown.
