President Donald Trump will host Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa at the White House on Nov. 10, marking the first visit by a Syrian leader, an administration official said. The two last met in Saudi Arabia in May, the first meeting between US and Syrian leaders in 25 years, and al-Sharaa is expected to sign onto the US-led coalition against ISIS. The visit comes amid a fragile Israel Hamas ceasefire after Israeli strikes in Gaza killed 104 people this week, the deadliest since the Oct. 10 truce. Axios first reported the planned meeting.
