Moments earlier, Barger’s gap shot stuck under the wall for a ground-rule double, wiping away a would-be run and leaving Toronto with two in scoring position. Tyler Glasnow induced a pop-up before Kiké Hernandez’s catch and a throw snagged by Miguel Rojas ended it. “Bad read,” Barger said, as manager John Schneider called it a tough play. Game 7 is Saturday night in Toronto.
