On a five-day swing through Asia, President Trump was feted at nearly every stop: Lee Greenwood blared, he staged a rally on an aircraft carrier, and he left with a replica of an ancient golden crown. Traveling through Malaysia, Japan and South Korea, and ending with a meeting with Xi Jinping, he was greeted with thumping drums, medals, golf and little beef patties with ketchup. In South Korea, he described arriving in “the Beast” amid sword-baring soldiers. Between the fanfare, Trump pitched investment, telling leaders in Gyeongju his administration is open for business and cutting red tape.
