Senate confirmation hearing for Casey Means, Trump's surgeon general pick, postponed after she goes into labor

Dr. Casey Means’ Senate confirmation hearing to become surgeon general was postponed Thursday after she went into labor with her first child, a committee spokesperson said. The Health, Labor and Pensions Committee will reschedule the session. Means, nominated in May after the White House withdrew Dr. Janette Nesheiwat’s nomination, co-founded the health app Levels and built a large online following after leaving “traditional medicine.” An HHS spokesperson said everyone is happy for her and noted this is one of the few times it’s easy to move a Senate hearing.
