Trump Pledges Steam, Hydraulics Over Magnets | JQJO

Speaking aboard the USS George Washington off Japan, President Donald Trump criticized the Navy’s use of magnets on new carriers, claiming water can disable them, and said he would sign an executive order to restore steam catapults and hydraulic elevators. He asked troops and a “top-ranking general” to weigh in, cited cost overruns and $993 million spent on catapults, and has previously suggested China pushed a global reliance on magnets. Trump also disclosed he’d undergone an MRI the White House tried to keep quiet during his second medical exam earlier this year.
