A US Navy MH-60R Seahawk helicopter and an F/A-18F Super Hornet crashed in separate routine operations over the South China Sea on Sunday, with all crew rescued, the Pacific Fleet said. The Seahawk from HSM-73 went down around 2:45 p.m. local time while operating from the USS Nimitz; three were recovered. About 30 minutes later, the VFA-22 jet also went down; both aviators ejected safely. Investigations are underway. The incidents unfolded as President Donald Trump tours Asia ahead of expected trade talks with China’s Xi Jinping amid recently eased tensions.
