Honduran man fatally struck on highway while fleeing immigration agents in Virginia

A 24-year-old Honduran man, Josué Castro Rivera, died after fleeing an ICE stop in Norfolk, Virginia, and being struck while trying to cross I-264, authorities said. He had been headed to a gardening job; his brother called the death an injustice and is raising funds to return the body to Honduras. DHS described the stop as a targeted operation, said passengers lacked legal status, and blamed “propaganda” for the outcome. Officials noted a name discrepancy. The crash is under investigation. The death follows other fatalities during immigration operations in Chicago and California.
