Portugal Rallies Past USWNT for First Win | JQJO

Portugal stunned the U.S. women 2-1 in a Thursday night friendly in Chester, Pa., rallying for its first win over the Americans in 12 meetings. Rose Lavelle scored in the opening minute, but Diana Gomes headed a corner just before halftime—the first goal Portugal has ever scored against the USWNT—before Fátima Pinto’s deflected strike put the visitors ahead. The U.S., largely at full strength despite injuries including Trinity Rodman, suffered its first loss since April. U.S. Soccer honored retiree Alex Morgan pregame. The sides meet again Sunday.
