Sununu launches New Hampshire Senate comeback bid | JQJO

New Hampshire Republican John E. Sununu, 61, launched a comeback bid for the Senate seat being vacated by Jeanne Shaheen, setting up a primary that includes Scott Brown. In a video, Sununu cast himself as a calmer hand and said he’ll focus on the economy, veterans, health care costs, and Social Security. National GOP groups cheered his entry, seeing New Hampshire in play as Republicans defend a 53-47 majority. But his past criticism of Donald Trump contrasts with Brown’s alignment. Democrat Chris Pappas, the primary front-runner, attacked Sununu over ties to special interests.
