Sweden and Ukraine signed a letter of intent to potentially supply up to 150 Gripen E fighter jets to Kyiv over coming years, after Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met at Saab’s home in Linköping. Kristersson stressed the memorandum brings no immediate deliveries and marks a 10–15 year path for the modern E variant, with limited production capacity. Zelenskyy said pilots are training and expects first deliveries in 2026. The leaders also discussed air defense, the PURL initiative, and urgent energy needs amid Russian strikes, coordinating positions ahead of European meetings.
