Ingrassia is due before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Thursday, but Republican Sen. Rick Scott plans to vote against advancing him, which could block the pick if Democrats unite. Other Republicans said they want to hear from Ingrassia first. His lawyer questioned the authenticity and context of the messages, calling them satirical. CNN has sought White House comment.
