Inter-phone glitch prompts emergency landing in Omaha

Read, Watch or Listen

An American Airlines flight operated by SkyWest made an emergency landing in Nebraska after pilots couldn’t reach flight attendants and heard someone outside the cockpit, the FAA said. Flight 6469 left Omaha for Los Angeles but turned back, landing 18 minutes later, according to FlightAware. After landing, the FAA said it was determined there was a problem with the inter-phone system and the flight crew had been knocking on the cockpit door. A photo showed the Embraer ERJ 175 parked away from the terminal with two firetrucks nearby. Omaha’s airport authority said there was no security incident; CNN has sought more details.
