Man who planned to shoot up Atlanta’s airport is arrested in a terminal following a tip from his family, police say

Atlanta police arrested 49-year-old Billy Joe Cagle at Hartsfield-Jackson airport Monday after relatives reported he had livestreamed plans to 'shoot it up.' Officers intercepted him near the TSA checkpoint and found an AR-15 and 27 rounds in his pickup parked just outside, the police chief said. Cagle, a convicted felon, faces charges including terroristic threats and firearm possession by a felon and was booked into the Clayton County Detention Facility Monday evening. Officials credited the family tip with averting tragedy; Mayor Andre Dickens and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem expressed gratitude.
