Sam Rivers, bassist for Limp Bizkit, has died at 48, the band announced Saturday, calling him "pure magic... the pulse beneath every song." No cause or details were shared. Rivers' final post on Friday promoted a 2026 Rock for People date, and the group last performed in August at Leeds Festival. He left the band in 2015 amid liver disease, then returned in 2018 after a transplant. Frontman Fred Durst remembered first hearing him "killing it on the bass." Limp Bizkit's recent single "Making Love to Morgan Wallen" topped several Billboard charts in September.
