Sam Rivers, bassist and founding member of US nu metal band Limp Bizkit, has died at 48, the group announced, calling him 'the soul in the sound' whose talent and heart were unforgettable. The cause was not disclosed. DJ Lethal said the band was in shock and asked fans to respect Rivers' family's privacy, also praising his charity work. Rivers left the band in 2015 due to liver disease from excessive drinking and later received a liver transplant. Limp Bizkit recently released a new single and performed at Reading Festival.
