Sam Rivers, the bass player in Limp Bizkit, died Saturday, the band said on social media, without sharing where or how. They praised him as "pure magic" and "the soul in the sound." Frontman Fred Durst posted a video recalling their start in Jacksonville Beach and performances around the globe, saying he had shed "gallons and gallons of tears." Rivers, 48, had spoken of heavy drinking, liver disease, and a transplant; he left the band in 2015 and rejoined in 2018. Limp Bizkit has a Central and South America tour slated to start in Mexico City in late November.
