Indiana awards Cignetti eight-year, $92.8M deal | JQJO

Indiana handed football coach Curt Cignetti an eight-year contract worth at least $92.8 million, signaling ambitions beyond its basketball reputation. The deal, averaging about $11.6 million annually through Nov. 30, 2033, rewards a 17-2 start that includes the program’s first College Football Playoff, AP Coach of the Year honors and a 30-20 win at No. 3 Oregon. Now 6-0 and ranked No. 3 — a program high — the Hoosiers also routed then-No. 9 Illinois 63-10. Leaders praised Cignetti’s results, while he urged staying “humble and hungry.”
