ICE arrested Hanover Park police officer Radule Bojovic, a native of Montenegro, during a targeted enforcement action under Operation Midway Blitz, an immigration enforcement surge in Illinois, DHS said. The agency alleges he overstayed a tourist visa by a decade and notes it is a felony for someone in the U.S. illegally to carry a firearm. Village officials said he was hired in January after a background check with federal work authorization and is on administrative leave amid immigration proceedings. ICE records show him in custody. He graduated from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy in August.
