Dozens of reporters turned in their Pentagon badges Wednesday rather than accept government-imposed limits on coverage, as the U.S. government called the new rules "common sense." The policy, ordered by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, would allow expulsion for reporting any information — classified or not — unless approved by him. Many waited for a 4 p.m. deadline, then filed out together; boxes lined a hallway as journalists hauled chairs, a copier, books and old photos to the parking lot.
