Zelenskyy seeks US air defenses after Russia's energy facility attacks

Russia pummeled Ukraine’s power grid with more than 300 drones and 37 missiles, triggering blackouts in eight regions, outages in Kyiv, and a halt to gas extraction in Poltava, officials said. Naftogaz reported the month’s sixth hit to gas infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using cluster munitions and repeat strikes on repair crews, and will ask President Donald Trump at the White House for air defenses, long-range missiles, and tougher sanctions. Ukraine said it struck the Saratov oil refinery again. Kyiv also deepened U.S. industry ties, signing a Bell Textron pact and meeting Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.
