Woman on Alaska Airlines flight allegedly assaults crew members, forces emergency landing in Boise

An Alaska Airlines flight from Portland to Dallas diverted to Boise Tuesday after a passenger allegedly assaulted two flight attendants, the airline said. Police identified the woman as Tracy Barkhimer, 61, of White Salmon, Washington, describing erratic behavior before she struck employees trying to calm her. She was restrained until landing, removed without incident, booked into the Ada County Jail, and later posted a $600 cash bond. Medics cleared the crew, and the flight continued after a 90-minute delay. Barkhimer faces two misdemeanor battery counts and is banned by the airline; a court date is set for early November.
