A suspected short circuit ignited a bus in Rajasthan on Tuesday, killing at least 20 people as flames engulfed the vehicle, authorities said. The bus, carrying 35 to 50 passengers from Jaisalmer toward Jodhpur, caught fire minutes after departure; 19 bodies were recovered and one person died en route to hospital. At least 15 were critically injured. With one door and a full load of air-conditioning gas, passengers at the rear couldn't reach the exit, said lawmaker Mahant Pratap Puri. Officials sought relatives for DNA identification, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan's Bhajan Lal Sharma offered condolences.
