Beijing Warns Countermeasures Over Trump Tariff Threat | JQJO

Beijing warned it will take corresponding measures if Donald Trump follows through on a threat to impose 100% tariffs on Chinese imports, intensifying a spat that has already rattled markets. China defended its sweeping new rare-earth export controls as legitimate and accused Washington of double standards, noting recent U.S. curbs and port fees on Chinese ships. The flare-up has sunk stocks and clouded trade talks, with Trump casting doubt on a planned meeting with Xi in South Korea. Beijing says it does not want a tariff war but is not afraid of one.
