Zelenskyy, Trump discuss bolstering Ukraine air defenses | JQJO

Ukraine and the U.S. are weighing new measures to boost Kyiv’s air defenses after a massive Russian strike on energy infrastructure, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, following a "very positive" call with U.S. President Donald Trump. Talks touched on Tomahawk missiles and follow Trump’s first military aid package under NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List. Russia fired 450+ drones and 30 missiles, injuring at least 20 and cutting power before 800,000 Kyiv residents were reconnected. With defenses 74% effective as strikes rise 1.3-fold, officials brace for winter after attacks destroyed over half of gas output; imports may need to increase 30%.
