President Donald Trump and his administration have painted a grim picture of Portland, Oregon, alleging it to be a war zone overrun by 'antifa thugs'. However, the reality on the ground is far from this portrayal. While there have been nightly protests outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, these have largely been confined to one city block. The protests have attracted a range of participants, from legal advocates to families. The city has also seen a decrease in crime and an increase in foot traffic in the downtown area.
