The US is deploying approximately 200 troops to Israel to aid in monitoring the Gaza ceasefire deal. The troops, part of a team including partner nations, NGOs, and private-sector entities, will establish a civil-military coordination center to facilitate humanitarian aid and security assistance. The center will help oversee the ceasefire implementation and the transition to a civilian government in Gaza. The troops, experts in transportation, planning, security, logistics, and engineering, will not enter Gaza, and are already arriving in the region.
