Libby Adame, 55, was convicted Thursday in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom of second-degree murder and practicing medicine without certification in the March 24 death of Malibu resident Cindyana Santangelo, 59. Authorities determined Santangelo suffered a fatal embolism from a silicone injection, the prosecutor said. The verdict followed arguments that Adame ignored warnings after her 2024 involuntary manslaughter conviction, while the defense insisted she gave no injections that day. Adame, arrested May 12 and jailed since, faces 15 years to life at her Nov. 5 sentencing.
