AstraZeneca, Trump strike most-favored drug pricing deal

The Trump administration and AstraZeneca announced a deal Friday to sell the company’s drugs to Medicaid patients at “most-favored nation” prices via a forthcoming TrumpRx.gov site, with primary care medicines available early next year. CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz said new prescriptions will also use that pricing. CEO Pascal Soriot said AstraZeneca will be exempt from pharma tariffs; the pact follows a similar Pfizer agreement that included a three-year tariff carveout tied to U.S. manufacturing. At a White House event, Trump touted lower prices, cited tariff threats up to 250%, and said more deals are coming. MSNBC reported the agreement.
