Hungarian writer László Krasznahorkai, known for his philosophical and bleakly humorous novels, has won the Nobel Prize in Literature. His works, including 'Satantango' and 'The Melancholy of Resistance', have been adapted into films. The Nobel judges commended his artistic vision and belief in the power of art. Krasznahorkai, who has previously won the Man Booker International Prize and the National Book Award for Translated Literature, is the first Hungarian laureate since 2002.
