Derrick Groves, the final inmate to escape a Louisiana jail in May, has been captured in Atlanta, Georgia. Groves and nine other inmates broke out of the Orleans Parish Justice Center through a hole created by removing a toilet and bending bars. The escape was attributed to staffing shortages and building flaws. Groves, serving a life sentence for murder and firearms charges, was found hiding in a crawl space after a standoff. He faces additional charges related to the jailbreak.
