The instructor, Justin Fuller, is presumed to have fallen without a parachute. His student survived after deploying an emergency parachute and becoming trapped in a tree. The incident occurred during a tandem jump. Fuller was an experienced instructor, and investigators are trying to determine how the separation occurred. Other jumps that day were successful.
