Namibia Deploys Troops to Fight Park Fire | JQJO

Namibia is deploying helicopters and hundreds of soldiers to combat a wildfire consuming a significant portion of Etosha National Park. The blaze, believed to have originated outside the park, has already killed nine antelope and destroyed vital habitats and grazing land. This has sparked criticism regarding government preparedness, prompting an emergency deployment of 500 additional troops to assist containment efforts in the ecologically significant reserve, a major tourist draw and home to endangered black rhinos.
