Typhoon Ragasa, one of the strongest storms to hit Asia in years, caused widespread devastation across the region. In Taiwan and the Philippines, at least 27 people died due to flooding and high winds. Millions were evacuated in Guangdong province, China, as the typhoon made landfall, bringing torrential rain and destructive winds. Hong Kong also experienced significant damage, with flooding, downed trees, and building damage. Schools and transportation were disrupted, and relief efforts are underway.
