Cleveland Guardians rallied to beat the Detroit Tigers 5-2, tying for first place in the AL Central. The Guardians, winners of 11 of their last 12, overcame a 10-game deficit held by the Tigers as recently as September 6th. A chaotic sixth inning saw the Guardians score three unearned runs despite minimal offensive hits, fueled by Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal's errors, including a bizarre play where he threw the ball between his legs. Guardians player David Fry suffered a facial injury after being hit by a pitch. Both teams have five games remaining in the regular season and play again Wednesday.
