The family of Casey Crafton, one of 67 victims killed in a January plane crash near Washington, D.C., filed a lawsuit against the FAA, Army, American Airlines, and PSA Airlines. The suit alleges negligence and failure to address numerous prior near-misses. At least 60 more lawsuits are expected. The FAA stated it's working with the NTSB to improve safety, while the airlines and Army pledged support to families but defended their actions. The NTSB's final report on the cause of the crash is pending.
