A New Zealand jury found Hakyung Lee guilty of murdering her two children, Minu (6) and Yuna (8), in 2018. Their bodies were discovered in suitcases in an Auckland storage unit in 2022. Lee fled to South Korea after the killings but was extradited. The defense argued insanity, claiming Lee's mental illness worsened after her husband's death and that she accidentally overdosed the children on medication. Prosecutors countered that her actions were calculated and selfish. Lee will be sentenced on November 26th and faces a mandatory life sentence.
