The U.S. Secret Service dismantled a network of electronic devices in New York City capable of disabling the city's cellphone network. Over 300 SIM servers and 100,000 SIM cards were seized across five locations. The network was also used for anonymous threats against U.S. officials and other criminal activities, including drug trafficking and the possession of illegal firearms. Authorities are investigating potential links to disrupting the UN General Assembly and are analyzing seized data to identify those responsible.
