Grammy-winning country songwriter Brett James, 57, died in a plane crash in North Carolina. The small plane, carrying three people, crashed Thursday under unknown circumstances; there were no survivors. James, who wrote hits like Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel," was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020. His songs were recorded by numerous artists, selling over 110 million copies. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.
