A dive team has identified a shipwreck off Nantucket as the ST Seiner, a World War I-era fishing boat that sank in 1929 with 21 men aboard. The 139-foot vessel, last seen in January 1929, disappeared during a storm. A search in the 1990s failed, but in 2025, divers using the D/V Tenacious positively identified the wreck at a depth of 200 feet on Georges Bank. Distinctive features like the double drum trawl winch confirmed the ship's identity. The discovery, while celebrated, is bittersweet given the loss of life, and descendants of the crew are encouraged to contact Atlantic Wreck Salvage.
